A change in perspective

When we first started Rapt, we knew the gift wrap had to be made of fabric, but we struggled to figure out how to tie it. We tried all sorts of ways to make the square work. We sewed on a long ribbon, but with small presents it went around multiple times and looked messy. We attached a strip of snap tape, the kind inside of hospital uniforms, but the snaps didn’t always match up or close correctly. We tried Velcro and that was a fail. It looked bumpy and caught the fabric - and our clothing. Ugh.

We looked at the square and finally realized that it was just a question of perspective. If you rotate a square by 45 degrees it will become a diamond. When you place a box in the middle of a diamond and wrap two of the facing sides up the sides that remain allow you to tie it. It was a Eureka moment!
